Pricing
Transparent fees at a 20% discount vs. competition.
lomi. supports three pricing modes for organizations:
- Dynamic (volume-tiered): rates decrease automatically as your monthly processed volume grows.
- Fixed: a stable fee schedule that does not change with monthly volume.
- Custom: negotiated pricing for specific business models, risk profiles, or high-volume needs.
The exact fee values visible to your organization come from your active pricing configuration in lomi. and may differ by currency, payment method, and provider constraints.
How dynamic pricing works
With dynamic pricing, your organization is assigned to a tier based on processed volume for the period. As your volume increases, your transaction rates decrease automatically.
- Tiers are evaluated from your processed revenue.
- Tiered fees apply to core payment processing fees (for example Mobile Money and cards).
- Non-tier fees can still apply (for example refunds, disputes, international card surcharges, or subscription-related add-ons).
For current tier thresholds and live rates, use the pricing view in your dashboard or the public pricing page at lomi.africa/pricing.
Dynamic pricing is meant to reward growth. If your business scales quickly, your effective take rate can improve without requiring a manual pricing migration.
Fixed and custom pricing
Not every business should be on volume-tiered pricing:
- Fixed is useful when you want predictable fees for finance planning.
- Custom is useful when your payment mix, ticket size, geography, or compliance setup needs a tailored schedule.
Custom pricing can include bespoke combinations of percentage and fixed components, and can vary by payment method and currency.
Contact hello@lomi.africa if you need a custom setup.
Transaction fees
Transaction fees are calculated from:
transaction fee = (percentage x amount) + fixed amount
Depending on your pricing mode and method, the fee can include:
- base processing fee (Mobile Money, cards, POS where applicable)
- provider or method-specific adjustments
- optional add-ons (for example subscription payment add-on)
In some low-amount flows, only the percentage component may apply based on your organization fee configuration.
Additional fees
Some fees are scenario-specific rather than charged on every payment:
- international card surcharge (when applicable)
- subscription payment add-on (when applicable)
- refund processing fee (full or partial refunds)
- chargeback/dispute fee (set by underlying networks/providers)
These are applied only when the relevant event occurs.
Refunds and disputes
You can issue both full and partial refunds.
- Original processing fees are generally non-refundable because providers charge them at payment time.
- Refund-specific fees may apply depending on your active fee schedule.
- Card disputes/chargebacks are billed by underlying networks and passed through.
For the up-to-date fee values (XOF/USD/EUR and any add-ons), rely on your live pricing configuration in dashboard and on lomi.africa/pricing.
Payout fees
lomi. aims to keep payout pricing transparent and provider-aligned:
- Some payout routes are free in specific contexts.
- Some routes include percentage and/or fixed provider fees.
- International payouts can have separate pricing from local payouts.
Processing times and availability can vary by payout rail, provider, and destination corridor.
Practical examples
Example A: Dynamic pricing (tiered)
An organization on volume-tiered pricing processes more volume this month and moves to a better tier. New payments use the improved tier fee schedule automatically.
Example B: Fixed pricing
An organization on fixed pricing keeps the same configured card/Mobile Money rates throughout the month, independent of volume changes.
Example C: Custom pricing
An organization with custom pricing has negotiated rates for specific methods (for example separate handling for local cards, international cards, or selected payout routes).
Choosing the right mode
- Use dynamic if you want automatic rate improvements as you grow.
- Use fixed if you want consistency and easier forecasting.
- Use custom if your business model needs negotiated terms.
If you are unsure, start with dynamic and review your effective costs monthly.
